About the Dubai Future Foundation & the Museum of the Future
The Museum of the Future is a public innovation initiative run by the Dubai Future Foundation. The Foundation was incorporated in 2015 by the Prime Minister and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and is run under the leadership of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The Foundation has two mandates expressed through its tagline, “See the future, create the future”. “See the future” represents the Museum of the Future itself. The Museum of the Future will be a global exhibition space dedicated to showcasing emerging trends and technologies and discussing their implications and impacts on the world.
“Create the future” represents the work of the Dubai Future Foundation, which owns and operates the Museum and develops its concepts into real world prototypes, partnerships, and policies for the Government of Dubai.
The Museum is currently under construction and will be opening in 2020.
Where does this role fit into the bigger picture?
The Social Media Manager reports directly to the Director – Marketing and Communications and is part of the Marketing Department Team for the Museum of the Future. The Marketing department contributes to the museum leadership by promoting interest for the museum, its exhibit and events through targeting marketing and communication activities.
Social Media Manager
As the Social Media Manager, you will support the Director – Marketing and Communication in the planning, development and implementation of all the museum’s Social Media activities. You will contribute in spreading an enthusiastic vision for the museum and for the future more broadly, developing interest and excitement in the community, with partners and other stakeholders.

• You will support in implementing and managing the social media handles of the museum in accordance with the overall brand and marketing strategy
• You will execute ongoing social media plans that generate interest in the museum and its activities and provides accurate, up-to-date information to visitors and the public.
• You will implement the creation of all social media campaigns and ensure alignment with the museum’s message and brand.
• You will implement new audiences and multiply messaging opportunities using a variety of resources including integrated digital content such as blogs, video, podcasts, eBooks, and other digitally based communications tools.
• You will be responsible for community management to all social media channels and insure best practice is implemented
• You will implement a comprehensive strategic direction for social media for the museum, that is in alignment with the museum’s vision and brand and targets its various audiences. This includes schools, partners, general public and other potential visitors and stakeholders.
• You will implement and assess metrics to gauge and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the social media activities and prepare routine reports that detail these activities.
• Implement social media Strategy and programs including key messaging playbook and community management.
• Prepare reports and presentations on social media initiatives to provide management with reliable information for review and decision-making.
Why this role is important?
This role has an essential impact by having accountability for the execution of social media activities and by implementation of social meidia campaigns for the museum as a whole, as well as for special exhibitions, programs, events and initiatives. To build the Museum brand image of the museum and in spreading the messages in a way that encourages attendance and fosters interest in the museum and its vision in potential partners and the community at large.
Who we’re looking for?
• You will have at lease 8 years of experience in managing social media for global brands with progressive responsibility in Marketing, Communications or PR roles in an agency environment.
• You will hold a Bachelor or Master degree in Marketing, Communications, journalism, PR or a related field.
• You will have experience working for creative brands or iconic public institutions.
• You will comfortably and articulately engage with the media and high-profile stakeholders.
• You will be energetic and comfortable in fast-paced environments.
• You must be flexible to work irregular hours to support marketing events and activities.
