Where does this role fit into the bigger picture?
The Senior DevOps Engineer reports directly to the Lead Developer and is part of the Technology Department at the Dubai Future Foundation.
DFF’s Technology department is unlike any other. We are tasked with driving the organization’s technology agenda, and frequently run experiments with new and emerging technologies. We work closely with all departments to help innovate and integrate technology into every facet of our work.
Senior DevOps Engineer
As the Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for managing some of our most critical platforms and deployment pipelines. As an expert in the field, you bring with you at least 8 years’ experience in managing, deploying, and maintaining complex digital platforms. You will be a core member of the Technology team, ensuring that our systems are secure, stable, and performing efficiently.
Technical Expertise
• You will be a technical expert with a specalty in deploying, managing, and maintaining complex digital platforms.
• You will have substantial experience creating and maintaining CD/CI pipelines on AWS and Azure. (Experience with Google cloud services a plus.) Having experience in WP Engine is an additional advantage.
• You will have extensive experience with GitHub’s more advanced features and automations.
• You will also have strong web development background and expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP and/or Node/React, and be willing to contribute to the development of different applications when required.
Collaboration
• While your main focus will be working directly with the Lead Developer, you will also work closely with the rest of the Technology team to provide them with any required support, and ensure the team drives and delivers the Technology agenda forward.

• As a Senior DevOps Engineer with the Dubai Future Foundation, you will have bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• You will have at least 8 years of experience in web development with at least 4 years of experience in DevOps for leading local or international organization.
• You should be knowledgeable in the following technologies:
o HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
o Git, GitHub, and other supporting technologies
o PHP/MySQL, Node, React, and MongoDB (expertise in at least one stack, but working knowledge in the other as a minimum)
o OWASP security guidelines
• You should have a proven track record in creating and maintaining CD/CI pipelines
• You should be able to deploy, manage, and maintain complex digital platforms
• You will have strong knowledge of AWS and Azure; experience in WP Engine and Google cloud services is a plus.
• You should have excellent written and spoken English communication capabilities; fluency in written and spoken Arabic is an additional asset
• You should be a creative problem solver and proactive about getting involved in all aspects of the Technology department.
• You should be willing to learn, flexible and able to handle multiple projects at once.
• You should have strong interpersonal skills, including being able to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and agencies.
