Overview:
As the Learning Experience Design Lead, you will spearhead the design of immersive learning journeys. Your role will encompass a variety of projects and initiatives, primarily focused on developing and deploying learning curricula for government and other stakeholders. You will be instrumental in overseeing the delivery of programs that explore new ways of working, centered around methods of design thinking, life-centered design, and creativity. This includes designing learning journeys, evolving and establishing curriculum content relevant to the government, developing and deploying a scalable system of learning for cohorts, and expanding Dubai Design Lab's offering around capability-building in government.
You will lead research in partnership with creative industry partners to identify topics and partners, synthesize and define content, write and design learning experiences, and develop them for launch. You will be responsible for leading the process from surfacing needs and opportunities, to concepting, to launching, iterating, and measuring the impact.
The Role:
+ You will lead projects and manage project teams, ensuring the successful execution of learning
design initiatives.
+ You will create learning journeys that deliver lasting skills supported by organizational change, with the ability to assess cost/benefit of learning initiatives, programs, and offers.
+ You will explore, articulate, and activate opportunities to expand Dubai Design Lab’s learning-related offerings.
+ You will collaborate with team members across different initiatives to align partner, stakeholder, and team priorities.
+ You will consider creating bespoke partner learning journeys and/or initiatives required during collaboration phases and implementation to ensure seamless handover and execution by the partner in later stages.
+ You will coach other team members and delivery partners about learning design in service of creative leadership.
+ You will drive the quality of design content with Dubai Design Lab’s design teams so it leads to impact.
+ You will serve as a subject matter expert, providing expertise in learning design and contributing to the development of best practices.
+ 10+ years of experience in writing, designing, and crafting content for learning experiences.
+ Proven track record of leading the end-to-end process of developing an educational experience.
+ Strategic communicator, capable of utilizing a variety of mediums – both visual and verbal.
+ Skilled writer in a range of formats such as short-form stories, video scripts, case studies, text-based articles, and/or punchy 1-liners. You can flex your tone and style to speak to different audiences.
+ Comfortable working with a variety of digital tools such as Figma, CMS, or LMS’s such as NovoEd, iMovie, or Hubspot. Bonus if you’re also skilled at designing digital interactions in online learning environments.
+ A detail-oriented designer who can self-initiate and see their work through to completion.
+ Comfortable in start-up work environments, willing to flex into different areas of the business and learn new skills when necessary, such as creating marketing assets or running experiments.
+ Thrive in collaboration. You have experience working closely with other designers to develop content, product teams, or interaction designers to bring it to life in a digital environment, and/or marketing teams to strategically position it. Bonus if you are skilled at managing stakeholders and building relationship networks.
+ Expertise in designing learning content for the professional sector (e.g., business, strategy) and/or soft-skill topics (e.g., creativity, storytelling, people leadership)
+ Preferably bilingual (English/Arabic).
