Where does this role fit into the bigger picture?
The Accountant reports to the Manager – Finance within the Agility Department.
The Agility Department’s main objective is to enable Dubai Future Foundation to deliver on its ambitions and initiatives by acting as a business partner and advisor, while providing support to the business across key corporate functions, including Finance, IT and Procurement.
Accountant
As an Accountant at Dubai Future Foundation, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate, detailed and compliant financial records and transactions. You will work closely with your colleagues and the Manager – Finance to ensure efficient, best-practice financial operations and processes that effectively support the needs of the business.
Accounts

You will be responsible for the accurate, timely and consistent management of day-to-day accounting transactions, ensuring alignment with Dubai Future Foundation’s policies and procedures.

As part of the accounts receivable process, you will receive contracts, log details into the system, issue invoices, follow up and collect outstanding payments, close contracts and prepare monthly reconciliations for management approval.

As part of the accounts payable process, you will receive invoices, ensure all contracts and suppliers are registered in the system, review and validate contracts and supporting documentation, confirm payments are processed and released on their due dates, close accounts and prepare monthly reconciliation reports for management approval.

You will prepare and validate monthly payroll files received from the People and Culture Department, ensuring accurate and fully supported files are submitted to the Manager – Finance for payment release.

You will prepare petty cash vouchers and credit card transactions, obtain the required approvals, record transactions in the system and reconcile them against bank statements on a monthly basis.

You will work closely with the Procurement Department to ensure that all contracts are in place and supported by the required documentation.

You will be responsible for recording fixed assets and reconciling the fixed asset register with the relevant ledger accounts, ensuring depreciation is accurately calculated on a monthly basis.

You will work closely with department units to support the preparation of their annual budgets.

You will support the external audit process by preparing audit schedules, responding to auditor queries and ensuring all supporting documentation is complete and readily available.

You will support the digitisation and automation of day-to-day accounting processes by leveraging system tools to reduce manual data entry, improve efficiency and shorten reporting turnaround times.

You will support ad hoc initiatives and pilot projects led by the Finance team to modernise accounting processes and workflows, in line with Dubai Future Foundation’s future-focused mandate.
Third-Party Relationships

You will manage relationships with suppliers, maintaining open communication and regular follow-up to ensure the smooth and timely processing of payments.

Skills Description

As an Accountant at Dubai Future Foundation, you will have a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.

You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field. A CPA or equivalent professional qualification would be an added advantage.

You will have excellent written and spoken English communication skills. Fluency in both written and spoken Arabic is required.

You will have strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to approach situations with a practical and solutions-oriented mindset.

You will be comfortable working under tight timelines and demonstrate resilience, adaptability and flexibility, particularly in situations where requirements may not always be clearly defined. Given the fast-paced nature of the organisation, you should be able to remain effective and composed in a demanding environment.
